Acute Respiratory Infection Hub

New solution for winter pressures on primary care

Discover more

Our mobile ARI hub is now live!  There is currently a winter wave of respiratory infections and dealing with the appointment load is proving hard on already overstretched GP practices.

We have developed an innovative and flexible solution with our mobile clinical hub van.  The hub will spend around a week at a time parked in various locations around Guildford and Waverley.  Patients can book in via their own practice, and they will be given a 15 minute appointment, face to face with one of our experienced local clinicans.

We started up on Monday 23 January.  The hub will be running 10am until 2pm, at least five days per week, and is supporting practices by seeing both paediatric and adult patients who are unable to get an urgent appointment.

The locations for the van up until Friday March 31 are:

13 February - 18 February : Tesco, Ashenden Road, Guildford GU2 7UN

20 February - 24 February : The Horsley Medical Practice, Kingston Avenue, East Horsley KT24 6QT

27 February - 3 March : The Mill Medical Practice, Catteshall Mill, Catteshall road, Godalming GU7 1JW

13 March - 17 March: Tesco, Ashenden Road, Guildford GU2 7UN

21 March - 24 March: Village Way car park, Village Way, Cranleigh, Surrey GU6 8AF (behind the Cranleigh Medical Practice)

27 March - 31 March: Haslemere Health Centre, Church Lane, Haslemere GU27 2BQ

This list will be updated as we confirm locations and dates.

Patients can book in via their usual practice, and if they meet the referral criteria they will be offered an appointment in the ARI hub.  We will be making direct online booking available as soon as we are able.

Provided by EMS Healthcare, the ARI hub is a mobile medical solution designed to reach people in the heart of communities for care closer to home. The Acute Respiratory Infection Hub provides additional capacity and convenient access to care for patients, creating additional appointment slots to relieve pressures in both primary and secondary care. This reduces the risk of hospital admissions by ensuring patients are seen quicker for earlier diagnosis and treatment.
